Pinstripe

H&M trousers
MISS SELFRIDGE crop top
RI leather jacket
ALDO boots
WHISTLES clutch

So it seems the English summer has been and gone, as I'm finding myself reverting back to wearing boots and jackets everyday once again. Sigh. Luckily for me I'm off on holiday today so I'll hopefully be able to enjoy some warm and sunny weather again! <insert evil laugh here>

I found these pin stripe cigarette pants whilst mooching around H&M yesterday and it was love at first sight... I have been wanting a pair for absolutely ages now and so even though I'd popped in for some last minute holiday bits, I ended up leaving with some British weather appropriate attire instead. Ah well.

Paired with a high neck 90s style crop top and some cut out ankle boots creates a casual androgynous vibe for daytime, but paired with a crisp white shirt and some court heels would be an outfit equally suitable for an interview.. (fingers crossed.) I even wore them out for a date night last night with a pair of strappy heels and a fluffy black cropped jumper. Is there anything you CAN'T wear these trews with?!

I'll catch you all next week when I'm back in rainy ol' England, hopefully with some pretty snaps from Portugal to share with you all.

Lots of love

A Twist on the Classic

ASOS trench coat
TOPSHOP top
RIVER ISLAND shorts & watch
ALDO boots

After a week or so of beautiful sunshine and hot weather, the sun has finally hidden away behind some clouds, cooling it down just enough for me to wear my new summer coat. Hoorah! I've been lusting after trench coats recently (as you'll know if you read my last post) and this sleeveless ASOS creation is a subtle twist on the classic, making it just that tiny bit more practical for the warmer weather.

Of course I kept the look monochrome and teamed it with my black high waisted shorts, which are basically the summer equivalent of my black Leigh jeans, and a gingham crop top. I also discarded my usual minimal heeled sandals in favour of my trusty Aldo ankle boots for a more casual vibe.

A quick note: Fashion Chick are holding their amazing competition to win a trip to Amsterdam fashion week again this season! I think this is a perfect summer edition outfit for AFW. Chic and timeless monochrome with some stand out, on trend pieces such as the gingham Bardot crop and the sleeveless trench. I hope you all like my entry, and don't forget to enter yourselves too if you want to be in with a chance of attending an international fashion week!

Have a great day guys.

The Summer Coat

Hello! Today I thought I'd do a bit of an inspiration / share the love post. The weather has taken a huge turn for the better in England recently and we're experiencing lots of sun and high temperatures, but typically all I can think about right now is coats, coats, and more coats. Trench coats and duster coats, to be exact, and my new found obsession is not helped at all by the vast amount of stylish blogging ladies I have popping up all over my Twitter, Instagram and Bloglovin' feeds who have been rocking the trend!

I love the way these girls have styled their summer coats, from mini leather skirts and heels to ripped jeans and birkenstocks. The classic British coats pull the looks together and adds a level of sophistication and chicness to their individual summer styles.

I caved and bought the beautiful ASOS sleeveless trench seen on the even more beautiful Jazz. I think it will look perfect with a mini LBD and heels for date nights or thrown over denim shorts and a breton tee for daytime on those days where the British weather just can't decide what it's doing. Then of course as the weather gets cooler it will look chic over shirts or thin knits and skinny jeans. The ultimate versatile piece, right?!

All the bloggers featured in this post are some of my absolute favourites and are at the top of my list of daily reads, so make sure you check out their links for more style inspiration!

80s vs 90s

Ah, the great debate. Can you wear two boyfriend style pieces in one outfit? Is over-sized on over-sized a fashion faux pas, or a chic pairing? Personally, I think when I put this outfit together I was just having one of those "I don't want to wear clothes that fit me" days. And yes, before you ask, my white blazer does make me feel a little like the fifth member of Duran Duran (or sixth, how many are there anyway?) I think I quite like the 80s power dressing meets 90s denim combo though. I guess I'm saying that this outfit probably shouldn't work, but it kinda does.

Did anyone notice another addition to my ever growing collection of strappy heels? I had absolutely no intention of buying yet another pair, but when I was in Dorothy Perkins recently I spotted these metallic beauties and it was love at first sight. I couldn't leave without them. Ya'll know I'm having a bit of a moment with Dorothy Perkins right now, they really do have some beautiful stuff in.

Kimono Lovin'

BOOHOO kimono
TOPSHOP leather trousers
NEW LOOK heels
H&M top
SHOP DIXI necklace

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the sheer beauty of this kimono?! I've been on the hunt recently for some holiday bits and pieces and this beautiful floral number from Boohoo is definitely my favourite purchase so far. I plan to wear it over a bikini by day and paired with heels and a LBD by night.

All this holiday outfit planning got the better of me this morning and I decided that I just couldn't wait until I go to Portugal to wear my new kimono, so, paired with my trusty leather trews and some colour co-ordinating accessories, I found a way to incorporate it into my everyday wardrobe too!

I just have to say that if you've not looked in Dorothy Perkins for a while, you should definitely check out their new in summer stuff. I wandered in there a few days ago and fell in love with so many things. Including this bright orange envelope clutch bag.

Catch ya later!

Holiday Inspiration!

As my trip to Portugal is just around the corner, I've been on the hunt over the past few days for some summer holiday fashion inspo. I think I'll be living in high waisted bikinis, kimonos and floppy hats by day, and printed trousers, a white blazer and strappy heels by night. Holidays are always a great excuse to buy new clothes, and for some reason it always seems easier to embrace more colour and pattern in a sunnier climate.

In case you hadn't noticed, I am counting down the days until I'm sat by the pool with a cocktail in one hand and a magazine in the other. It will be the perfect celebration for finally finishing education! Are any of you lovely lot off on holiday soon? Where do you get your holiday inspiration from?
